ON1 Resize AI 2023.5 introduces Face Recovery Technology

ON1 announces updates to its ON1 Resize AI. ON1 Resize 2023.5 uses AI models to upscale (or enlarge) photos while keeping all the details without losing quality, the company says, adding this upcoming version of ON1 Resize AI will be able to detect small faces in photos and upscale them with realistic detail. This feature is designed for old group photos or when cropping a person out of a photo. The software can reconstruct a face from modest details creating realistic features and textures, “resulting in stunning and natural-looking results,” the company claims.

ON1 will also add a component from the AI-powered NoNoise AI into the image upscaling workflow. This will help reduce noise as well as JPG and over-sharpening artifacts to create higher-quality photo enlargements.

“With its unique tiling and gallery wrap features, powerful batch processing, and the ability to print right inside the app, ON1 Resize AI is the ultimate photo resizing solution for photographers, graphic artists, and print agencies alike,” said Dan Harlacher, VP of Product at ON1.

ON1 Resize AI can be integrated into a workflow as a plugin. In Capture One and Lightroom, batch processing is easy with powerful resizing options. In Adobe Photoshop, the software can handle layered files with masks, alpha channels, text, and adjustment layers in RGB, CMYK, Grayscale, and LAB.
